CARAMEL DIPPED APPLES
6 Round Apples, any type you like. My preference - Granny Smith
14 Oz bag of caramels, wrapped
2Tsp Milk or Water
6 Craft Sticks
For decorations:
Chopped nuts OR/AND
Toffee pieces OR/AND
Mini M&Ms OR/AND
Sprinkles OR/AND
Shredded coconut
Supplies:
Microwave Safe Bowl OR
Saucepan and Stove Top
Wooden or Silicone Spoon
Parchment Paper
Cookie Pan covered with Parchment Paper
Directions:
1. Wash apples very thoroughly, make sure there is no wax left on them, and they are dry. Place them in the refrigerator.
2. Unwrap caramels. Place them in the bowl or saucepan, add milk or water and slowly start, melting caramels. If microwave is used, start with 45 sec, mix and place into microwave for additional 45 sec. Repeat until all caramel has melted. OR
3. If using a stove top, use medium flame and using a spoon, continue mixing until all caramel has melted.
4. Take apples out of the refrigerator and insert craft sticks.
5. Dip every apple in melted caramel and place it on the parchment paper.
6. Roll or sprinkle each apple in the toping of your choice.
7. Let them sit for 30-45 minutes.
