SCONES

Ingredients:

2 C Flour

1/3 C Sugar

1Tsp Baking Powder

1/4Tsp Baking Soda

1/2Tsp Salt

8Tbs Butter, frozen

1/2C Raisins

1/2C Sour Cream

1 Egg

1Tsp White sugar

 

Directions:

1.      Preheat the oven to 400F.

2.      Mix all dry ingredients together in a medium bowl. Grate butter into flour mixture on the large holes of a box grater. Using fingers, incorporate butter until mixture resembles crumbs.  Incorporate raisins.

3.      In a small bowl, whisk sour cream and egg together.

4.      Stir sour cream mixture into flower mixture. Using hands or Kitchen aid make a ball.

5.      Place dough on a lightly floured surface and make a 7 inch circle, about ¾ inch thick. Using a knife, cut 8-10 triangles. Sprinkle with sugar.  Place on the baking tray with parchment paper, 1 inch apart.

6.      Bake for 15-17 minutes until golden.
